The Glossary

This list highlights select JustPush specific terms you might encounter throughout the user manual and core references. It focuses on terms with a unique meaning within the JustPush environments.

Many items on the list will provide links to article's, offering deeper insights into the concepts and practical applications of the associated words.

Topic

A topic is a group of messages collected in the same thread. Topics are viewed in a conversation like view. A message on a timeline.

A message is holds various elements. Together they form a message. A bare minimum is the title.

Title

A word or phrase that resembles a message or a topic. It is recommended to use descriptionairy or summarizing words and phrases.

Body

The body resembles the actual contents of the message. A body is the content of the message itself. It can only hold text. Additional elements such as images and buttons can be added through the messages.

Sound

A sound can be send when a message is send. A sound will be played on the device.

Priority

A message can have a priority. This alters the look and feel of the message.

Button Groups

A button group is a set of buttons combined in a group.

A button that links to the defined url. A user can set the button through the API.

A message can hold one or more images.

Acknowledgement

An acknowledgment is a message part. It determines that the message has to be acknowledged. A record is kept of what device has acknowledged the message. Within a message there can be a callback url, and params.

Is a single person that is identified by an email.

  • Access to one of our apps

  • Has a personal email (Email API)

Can:

Device

A device is part of a user and determines a unique device based on it's own identifier. Within the App an device is registerd to receive push messages.

Your personal JustPush email. Any email will be forward as a push message.
